Juniors at The Towers Convent School

The Towers Junior School is a very special place where everyone is welcomed and nurtured to be the best they can be.

Our aim is to be a happy school where everyone has the chance to develop their own unique gifts and talents. Learning is fun and we hope you will find many new skills and hobbies in your time with us and that we can teach you to become a lifelong learner.

We are all members of a community which includes the Nursery, the Junior School, the Senior School and most importantly of all the Sisters, whose lovely home we have the privilege to share.

We all work together to take responsibility for our grounds and environment and we make opportunities to learn together in our special curriculum weeks. We share our assemblies, playtimes, dinnertimes and other events with the Nursery and work as a team to make our school and all the people in it happy and fulfilled.

We are delighted you have chosen our school and look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Year 1

There is quite a big transition from Reception into Year 1 and the start of Key stage 1. The children take part in a range of more challenging academic activities as well as stimulating fun ones all weaved around a clear topic map. An example of which can be viewed here.

Year 2

In Year 2 our classroom is full of happy, smiley faces! The children are encouraged to become more independent in their approach to work. They are building on skills they have already acquired and are learning new ones through a variety of creative activities. See an example of the topic map here.

Year 3

In Year 3, we are creative in our learning. We are at the beginning of Key Stage 2 and are gaining confidence and independence in our school life. We aim for a solid foundation to progress from as we move on through the junior school and we balance hard work with fun. Click here for example topic map.

Year 4

Year 4 is a great year for individual development, the children are encouraged to become more independent and able to organise themselves, their time and possessions with less adult help. Example topic map can be found by clicking here.

Year 5

In Year 5 we encourage the children to do their very best and expand their sense of awe and wonder in and outside of the classroom. They are becoming independent learners in all areas of the curriculum and foster support for each other. An example topic guide for Year 5 can be found here.

Year 6

In Year 6, we encourage independence and responsibility in preparation for the Senior School. Year 6 are expected to be role models for the younger children, assisting them in a variety of ways. Click here to see an example topic map for Year 6.

We are so proud of our Junior School, so why don't you come and see it in action for yourself?

You can even book your child in for a taster day to give you extra piece of mind!
